Bollywood has a new buzzword, nepotism, thanks to Kangana Ranaut. Ever since Kangana went on Karan Johar’s show and called him the “flag-bearer of nepotism,” there has been a lot of debate on the subject. Talks on the issue got a fresh boost after the “Nepotism rocks” act at the recently held IIFA Awards.
Apurva Asrani, who had a bone to pick with Kangana over the writing credits of Simran, accused the Queen actor of being nepotistic herself. He wrote on Twitter, “I hired my brother as addnl writer on my new film. #Kangana hired her sister as manager & now promotes her brother. All guilty of #nepotism? (sic)”
Kangana’s sister Rangoli lashed out at the writer for trying to get publicity out of this. “@Apurvasrani I am her sister and i am with her in that capacity, my brother is a pilot and don’t you dare to bring him in to this (sic),” she tweeted.
Calling Apurva “emotionally illiterate,” Rangoli said that drinking coffee and watching films with one’s brother did not qualify as nepotism.
